bella swan is one of the most pathetic characters i’ve ever come across. okay, we get it, you’re hopelessly in love with edward. but for god’s sake woman, can you not function on your own? and since the character of anastasia steele was based on bella, they share the same fault. frankly the way steele’s “inner goddess” gloated over giving a satsifactory bj was just plain disturbing.
another example of poorly written female leads are the manic pixie dream girls. and while i don’t hate summer finn, i really feel like the writers could have fleshed out her character more. as shown in the film, she had issues; why couldn’t the script have expounded on that?
